Associate Clinical Professor
Dr. Swan is author of "Concept-Oriented Reading Instruction, Engaging Classrooms, Lifelong Learners" which reflects her research and teaching interests in cognitive, motivational and educational aspects of learning and reading; cognitive, motivational, and contextual influences on reading and conceptual learning; and professional development of teachers, grades K-12, in reading comprehension and engagement for student achievement. Swan holds a Ph.D in educational psychology and reading from the University of Maryland.
