Mishra holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Iowa. His research focuses predominantly on understanding psychological and economic underpinnings of why people behave the way they do. His research spans areas such as biases in decision-making, financial decisions, goal theory, affective and cognitive decisions, and behavioral economics. His work has been featured in variety of media outlets such as Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Miami Herald, TIME, MSNBC, Scientific America, NPR, SmartMoney.
