Going back to school can be stressful for parents and children as each adjusts to new routines and new surroundings. Professor of psychiatry Matthew Woolley says that mindfulness, a practice of focusing in the moment, can help. In particular, he recommends talking about students’ value-based intentions for the year and taking time to visualize successful behaviors and actions.
