Hate crime laws in Utah

Cliff Rosky, a professor at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, this month testified in favor of Senate Bill 107 at the Utah State Legislature, which would amend Utah’s hate crime laws. Rosky played a critical role in drafting the bill, introduced by Sen. Stephen Urquhart, R-St. George, which passed out of a Senate committee with a favorable recommendation after a 5-1 vote. Rosky is available for commentary on the bill’s merits as it continues to move through the legislative process.
