Land management with native tribes

On Tuesday Utah voters re-elected congressional representatives Jason Chaffetz and Rob Bishop, republicans who support the Utah Public Lands Initiative meant to block the Bears Ears National Monument. The Bears Ears National Monument, which would protect nearly 2 million acres in Utah sacred to five tribes, would become the first in the United States to formalize collaborative land management between sovereign tribal governments and the feds. Brian Codding, anthropologist at the University of Utah, is available to discuss successful cases of joint land management with native tribes outside the U.S.
