Refugee from Burma to lead mural project at College of Social Work

Nyan Soe, a refugee from Burma who is also an artist and journalist, will be working with the College of Social Work to develop a large mural for display. Soe has been working with the College of Social work to help advance programs with refuges communities living along the border of Burma and Thailand.  Soe will work with students, faculty and staff to develop a powerful and inspiring mural about Bridging Borders: Local to Global Connections. The college hopes to have students, faculty, and staff as contribute their voices to this special mural project over the course of Tuesday, March 22 and Wednesday, March 23. The mural will be painted on the college’s patio (outside the student lounge) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
