The Utah Senate’s push to abolish the 17th Amendment

The Utah Senate this week implored Congress to repeal the 17th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution as a measure to allow state senators to elect U.S. senators. The proposal draws many questions. Wayne McCormack, a professor of constitutional law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, is available for interviews from a legal perspective on the issue, including why we have the 17th Amendment in the first place.
